WIP Gamma BJD 02

Description

Believe it or not... this is the hardest stage for me. Right now Gamma is basically a big pile of hard paper. He doesn't look like anything... and generally looks like a five year old is playing with play do.

It's hard to go from this stage because it's very hard to look at it and believe it will become something. However, I know it will. I'm the type of person that no matter how hopeless a situation is, I'll work on it till I either finish or break it.

Why? Because my mother is a teacher and she always told me "An F is better than a 0, because an F still gives you points." X3 So even if I did badly, I'd still try.

My reason for putting this and the other WIP shots up are to show you that no matter what the end product... all dolls start out as a big lumpy thing.

I will move this to scraps when Gamma is done.

I'm new in the BJD world  'til recently, they where just very expensive realistic-creepy looking dolls. But I've come across some SO beautyful, it made me start to wonder more about them (and deffinitely made want one! :excited:): Where to buy, how much they cost, etc... I realice they're are quite expensive :0_o: but also learned you can make your own and since I'm a bit handy with crafting and stuff, well I decided to give it shoot. I'm in the research stage still, but I've gatered some practice material to star somewhere! (-schoolar- clay, sculpting tool kit and I've made some practice blueprints with my own design).
I want to practice like crazy 'til I feel I can actually sculp a pretty -enough- face, so then, go for the rest of the body. As a beginner I've a ton of questions... perhaps you can help me with some? please? Anything you can tell me I will deeply appreciate :thanks:
...Like I went to a store near by and found this sculpting material (brands): Clary Premier, DAS, La Doll, Plus -selfhardening clay-, Polyform Model air, Marblex, Stonex, AMACO, Super Sculpey Living Doll, Super Sculpey, Original Sculpey, Sculpey Ultralight and Scoulpey III
But I dunno which is better in the sence of which can resist sanding, painting and submerging ????
BTW, I've been surfing through your gallery and, some skill you've got there lady! Your stuff is beautyful!:heart:
