Wow, okay, I didn't realize how long it'd been since I updated this.  I took a full time job in 2014 working on Call of Duty.  For the past five years I've been working on that as first a prop artist on AW and then a character artist on WWII.  It was a ton of fun, I met some great people, made good friends, and learned a TON.  This February I finally decided to move on and I'm working at a small start up studio founded by some of my fellow COD devs and a bunch of people from Telltale.  I *fucking love* my job and my coworkers.  COD is sort of out of my wheelhouse, but it was a great opportunity and I was delighted by the chance to work on something so huge.  My new project is more in line with the kind of things I like and since we're small I've been able to have a lot of say in development, pipeline, and costume design.  Very excited to see where this goes!

We're only looking for senior artists right now, but I'll be sure to let people know if we start doing intern or junior positions! <3 <3

Also if you're looking to get into Video Games or it's your major but you're not sure what to focus on FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT'S HOLY BECOME A RIGGER/TECH ARTIST.  You will never have trouble finding a job and if you get tired of Game Dev work(it can be grueling and thankless) you can move on to other tech companies.  Good rigging artists are extremely hard to find.  

In other news, my cat, the orange girl I always take pictures of, sadly passed away a year ago from complications due to a large brain tumor.  She woke up one morning and her personality was just gone.  She was a cat but she wasn't Kaz.  Now we somehow ended up with three new cats!  All rescues.  One 13 year old who likes to rub her butt on stuff and leave little poop-kisses on the sheets, one GIANT two year old cat(he's three feet long), and one adorable manx kitten. I'll try to post some pics when I get a chance!

So, I've been kind of deadish lately when it comes to posting art or working on my comic.  I haven't had any time.  Remember how I was doing portfolio work?  Well, it worked.  I have a new job and I've been working really long hours for the last few months.  It'll slow down here soon, but then it'll pick up again after September.  It's a super fun job and I love it and the people I work with, but sadly I don't have as much free time as I used to.  What free time I have had I've been spending on doll stuff and not drawings. :/  To be honest I've been nervous to pick one up.  Some of the guys I work with are super talented artists, it's a bit intimidating!

1.      Where would you like to travel to? Why?
I'd love to go to Seoul to visit my great-aunt and extended family, but i want my mom to go with me, so I'm not sure it's financially in the near future.

    2.      Name a small pleasure. Something small that makes you really happy!  Like putting on microwaved warm socks on cold days XD!!!!

    3.      What’s your most favorite thing about your dolls? [or another art form if you’re not a doll person]
 I think my favorite thing is that they exist at all.  They're such an odd idea, I was so surprised and excited the first time my friend showed me them.

    4.      What’s the weirdest question a stranger has asked you?
Probably the first time someone just blatantly asked my mom and I what we were.  they meant our ethnicity, but up until that point I never thought our ethnicity was in question and I felt like a space alien.

    5.      Name 1 thing that you feel makes you unique! [yes I know it’s cheesy ^-^!]
I have ridiculously strong fingernails.

    6.      If you could have one other art related talent, assuming you’d have no limitations (space, money, tools, etc…) what would it be?
I wish I was a better painter. :/  I'm kind of bad at it.

    7.      If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
If teleporters existed so I could go see my folks whenever, I'd want to live in Tochigi, Japan.  My best friend lives there now and I just really liked it there.  It's quiet and clean and laid back.  Everyone was pretty friendly and you can catch the train to tokyo for $20 round trip.

    8.      If you had 1 day left, and one project to finish, what would it be?
One day on earth? Screw the project, I want to see my family. XD  But if I could finish one project right now it'd be my comic.

    9.      If I told you is was okay to steal, what item would you steal? (just one, and it can’t be robbing a bank, it has to be 1 item that’s not for the purpose of resale)
Man, I don't know. Other than maybe a gallon of silicone because I'm out and I'd love to have some more but I can't afford it right now!

    10.  If you had to choose a place and time in history aside from now to live in, where and when would it be? Why?

 I'd go back to the early 1990's, punch my fifth grade teacher in the ovaries, and then go invest all the technology companies that sprang up before the dot-com collapse.

So the fall comes...and it's still really freaking busy!

I should hear any day now on the masters for St. George and Orpheus being ready for casting.  They estimate the prototype should be in my hot little hands by the 11th of Nov barring any changes from me.  I'm very nervous to see him.  Excited!  But nervous. XD

Taking another class starting next week and it'll go all the way through December... so reception may be spotty!  But I'll get back to questions as soon as I can. :3
